The Philadelphia Eagles and their injuries
The amount of injuries the Eagles team has sustained is ridiculous. The injury shenanigans began against Green Bay with the very athletic fullback Leonard Weaver. you can argue he is the best fullback in the league. He suffered a very severe tear of his anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for the remainder of the year. His replacement Owen Schmitt luckily has done very well filling in. Later on in that game, QB Kevin Kolb was the recipient of a concussion thanks to Clay Mathews. This began the QB carousel, Michael Vick ( you know the dog killer) replaced him and did phenomenal. He later that week became the starting quarter back. But even later in the game the leader of the O-Line, center Jamaal Jackson tore his right biceps and is also out for the rest of the season. The eagles would not be finished with injuries against the packers yet. Stew Bradley Eagles defensive leader and starting linebacker (who was out all last year) sustained a concussion. He missed the following week against detroit. In the Eagles week 2 visit to detroit starting DE and 1st round draft pick Brandon Graham suffered a shoulder injury. Then again in week four when Mcnabb came back to Philly it seemed the team was plagued with injuries again. On the eagles second drive the new starting QB of the Eagles (Mike Vick) scrambled for a gain of about 20 yards to have that play called back for a holding penalty. At the end of the play when Michael vick was being tackled he suffered broken rib cartilage. He is expected to miss 2 weeks. Kevin Kolb will have yet another chance to show off what hes got and i will be rooting for him. He had an impressive start against the 49ers this week and i'll be hoping he starts next week too. Later on in the same game Corner Back Asante Samuels sustained a concussion... Later in the game WR Riley Cooper the 5th round pick of the eagles also sustained a concussion. The amount of concussions in the league are ridiculous and there are way too many. It's about time the NFL does something, like make it mandatory to wear mouthpieces or make a new design for helmets. I have seen many players play with out mouth guards and i think making it mandatory for them to wear one would have an impact on concussions. What do you think the N.F.L should do?
